About
Where it is/General info: Located to the right as you enter the parks main North Entrance is located our “terrain” (the area where a game of pétanque is played). Pétanque sometimes referred to as Boules (though “boules” is the name for the large balls players throw) at the target small ball the “jack” or “cochonnet”. A great game for those who don’t want to ruin a lovely tranquil day with too strenuous an effort.
What Plant/Tree life to look out for: The shade here on those sunny days are provided by our Liquidamber trees. Great for shade and spectacular in the Autumn as they go a beautiful fiery red.
What Insect/Bird/Animal life to look out for: Surprisingly popular with some of our bird life. If you are lucky, you will see our sparrows enjoying a lovely dust bath on the terrain. Feel free to send us pictures and let’s see who else likes the game.

The terrain is free to use and cannot be booked (N.B. Please see below for specific Days and Times when the terrain is in use by our resident Pétanque club).
